1.   "Self-Inking" stamps are those which do not require an external stamp pad. They have an internal ink Pad.  They may be Ideal, COSCO, or other brand. They can be re-inked and newpads can be purchased. Remember, each letter is as wide as it is tall. If you specify 1/4" high letters "FILE" the word will be 1" long.

 

 

 2.   "Pre-Inked"    Pre-Inked stamps are self contained stamps which do not require a stamp pad.  The ink is in the die part of the stamp.  These stamps can be made with any information you require.  These stamps can be re-inked, but not with standard water based ink. These stamps can be made with fast drying ink which can be used on photographs, plastic and other surfaces that will not accept a standard rubber stamp ink. Pre-Inked stamps are special order and take approximately one week from date of order to date of shipment.  Send wording to stamp@transstamp.com  via e-mail and we will return a price for your approval.

3.    "Walnut" or "Hand Stamps"and many flat band numbering and line stamps require a stamp pad. These are the traditional rubber stamps most people associate with ordering a rubber stamp. When considering the cost of the stamp and the pad, the cost is basically the same as a  self-inking stamp.

 

 

 

 

 

4.  "Die Plate"stamps may be date or numbering stamps. the term "Die Plate" merely means that a space has been left at the top and/or bottom of the stamp to place a rubber die with the custom wording you desire above and/or below the date or number mechanism of the stamp. They may be self-inking or non self-inking.

 

 

 

 

5.  "Pre-Made" stamps are those we keep in stock.  Pre-Made Stamps are less expensive then custom made stamps. They are made in bulk and thus involve much less labor in type setting than custom stamps require. The Pre-Made Stamps on this web site are all pre-inked stamps. Pre-Made stamps are made from the  same materials as are Pre-Inked stamps. There is no deviation allowed on Pre-Made Stamps. Shape, wording, size and color are as seen in picture of the stamp.  Pre-Made Stamps can not be altered or changed in any manner.  The size shape and color in the image is what is available. 

 

  The die or wording part of a stamp is made from one of two methods.

 

 A polymer stamp is simply stated, a stamp made by pouring a liquid polymer compound on a sheet of glass and exposing it to ultraviolet light. This causes the polymer to expand in the exposed areas creating whatever has been placed on the negative being used. It should only be used with water based inks.
